The upcoming Acer Aspire One D255 notebook will reportedly have a dual core Intel Atom N550 processor. We have already heard that the Asus Eee PC 1015N will have the same processor. And if our guess is right, we will soon start seeing a spate of new laptops featuring the new processor.
The Atom N550 has dual 1.5GHz cores with 512KB of L2 cache. It also supports hyperthreading which should give you a nice performance boost while performing certain tasks. While the N550 is the first dual core Atom processor designed for netbooks, PC makers like Asus has already released mini-laptops with the dual core Atom 330 and the D525 which are actually desktop processors.
The Acer Aspire One D255 has the same case design as the recently unveiled Aspire One D260, but it is now available in new colors sans the chrome elements
