The budget friendly 15.6 inch Acer Aspire 5741 notebook is now available for purchase. The device is available in two configurations: While the Acer Aspire 5741-5763 has 4GB of DDR3 RAM, Aspire 5741-5698 ships with 3GB of DDR3 memory. Both machines sport a 2.2GHz Intel Core i3-350M processor, Intel GMA HD integrated graphics, a 320GB hard disk drive, Windows 7 Home Premium and a DVD burner. The 15.6 inch display has 1366 x 768 pixels. Acer is also planning to offer the notebook with discrete ATI Radeon dedicated graphics.
Other specifications include a 1.3MP web camera, stereo speakers, a microphone, WiFi 802.11n, Gigabit Ethernet, 3 USB ports, a 5-in-1 media card reader, VGA and HDMI outputs. The keyboard is full-sized and features a dedicated number pad.
The Aspire 5741 weighs 5.74 pounds with the 6-cell battery. It will reportedly get around 4 hours of battery life. Prices start at $620.
