HP has unveiled a Select Edition of its 15.6 inch Pavilion dv6t entertainment notebook. The main difference between the regular dv6t and the Select Edition is that the latter is available with a touchscreen display, quad-core processor and a different case design.
The Pavilion dv6t select Edition is available with your choice of a Core i3, i5 or i7 processor (up to quad-core i7-820QM), ATI Mobility Radeon HD5470 512MB or HD5650 1GB discrete GPU, up to 8GB of DDR3 Memory, up to 640GB of hard disk space or a 160GB solid state drive, DVD burner or Blu-ray optical drive. Quad core processor configurations are only available with ATI Radeon HD5650 1GB GPU.
The LED-backlit Brightview display features 1366 x 768 pixels. The touchscreen recognizes multi-touch gestures. Other features of dv6t include built-in webcam, island-style keyboard, Altec Lansing stereo speakers, WiFi 802.11n, Gigabit Ethernet, optional Bluetooth, four USB ports (one of which is also an eSATA/USB combo port), a 5-in-1 card reader, VGA, HDMI and optional fingerprint reader.
The 5.5inch notebook comes pre-loaded with HP TouchSmart applications. It features a brushed aluminum chassis with “stream argento” texture. HP claims that the standard 6-cell battery will offer up to 5 hours of runtime. The optional 9-cell battery should get around 7.75 hours of battery life.
The Pavilion dv6t runs Windows 7. It is now available for purchase at HP's online store. Prices start at $749.99.
